Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 April 2026
Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sitana Global telehealth platform, website, and related services. By creating an account, using the platform, or submitting a case, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you use the services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
Not an emergency service
The platform facilitates remote consultations. It is not an emergency medical service. Remote assessment has inherent limitations: practitioners cannot perform a physical examination through the platform alone.
In any life-threatening or urgent situation, you must contact emergency services or attend an emergency facility immediately. You agree not to use the platform as a substitute for emergency care.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and information for a minor. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you notify us of unauthorised use.
Types of services
The platform may offer primary online consultation, second medical opinion, and medico-legal case review. Each has a different scope. You must select the service type knowingly and provide complete and accurate information so practitioners can assess your request.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where feasible.
Informed consent at case creation
Before creating certain cases, you must complete the platform’s informed consent flow acknowledging key topics (nature of telehealth, data practices, sharing with practitioners, recording, medico-legal and second-opinion limitations, liability, communications, and your rights). Your acceptance is legally significant; read these Terms and the Privacy Policy in full.
Session recording
Where recording is offered, it will only occur with your explicit per-session consent before the session starts. By consenting, you agree to the capture, storage, and permitted uses described in the Privacy Policy.
Medico-legal services
For medico-legal reviews, deliverables are medical opinion documents for use in legal or dispute contexts, not a treatment plan. The assigned practitioner acts as an expert reviewer. You remain responsible for your legal strategy and for instructing lawyers as needed.
Second opinion limitations
A second opinion from a platform practitioner is a professional review based on information available through the platform. It does not replace your treating physician’s ongoing care decisions unless you choose to follow it after discussion with your care team.
Acceptable use and compliance
You must not misuse the platform: no unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, attempt to access others’ data, interference with systems, or submission of false medical information. You must comply with applicable laws, including PDPL and health-sector requirements in Bahrain where they apply to your use.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The platform is a technology and facilitation service. Clinical decisions are made by licensed practitioners, who carry their own professional responsibilities and liability. Sitana Global does not provide medical advice directly to patients.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for clinical outcomes. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
Communications
You agree that we may send transactional and service-related messages via SMS, email, or push notifications as described in the Privacy Policy. Marketing communications, where used, will follow applicable consent rules.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, risk to security or others, or legal requirements. You may stop using the services at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits, governing law) will survive termination.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply in your jurisdiction.
Disputes should first be addressed through our support channels. Where not resolved, competent courts in Bahrain may have jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective or “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Material changes may require additional notice.
